Jonah turns 21 months old on the 21st!

Jonah turned 21 months old today! Wow - He has changed so much in the last month! He is so intuitive and knows exactly what he wants and is very expressive! It's so cute! He's really into dancing to any kind of music right now and has just started learning to sing songs. His current favorites are "Old MacDonald" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." We just bought him a potty and he has already gone to the potty a couple of times but I'm not rushing it. We still have some time! He loves to say "Stop it Daddy" or "Stop it Mommy" and tells everyone to "Be Nice" including Riley even though no one is being mean to him! Very funny! He's gotten in the habit of falling asleep on the couch at night and loves putting is stuffed animals to "Night Night" by covering them up with blankets and patting their backs! He's still not very adventurous when it comes to trying new foods. Jonah still won't eat ice cream or any kind of sweets! I guess that's a good thing! We just can't believe in a couple of months he'll be two years old!

My Birthday!

I'm officially over 30! That means I have to check the 31-34 age group box on forms now! It's very sad! Josh also pointed out that I am now closer to 40 than 20!!

Anyway, I had a great birthday! I celebrated with Jonah, Josh, Jerod and Lauren on Thursday at my favorite Sushi restaurant, Wasabi, in McKinney! Then on Saturday night we celebrated mine and my friend Lindsey's birthday (16th) at Nove in Victory Park with Vicky, Shannon and Bryce! They surprised us with a fabulous cake complete with sparklers. We had a lot of fun! Jerod took Jonah to Palestine to stay with Opa and Oma Saturday night so we had the whole house to ourselves! It was Jonah's first overnight trip away from home! I know he had a lot of fun and we enjoyed having some time to ourselves and sleeping in on Sunday!

Weekly Recap

* Jonah enjoying his first Candy Cane

* Santa came to visit Jonah's school this week but Jonah didn't want anything to do with him so Mommy had to sit in Santa's lap while holding Jonah to get a picture! Of course it was the one day that week I didn't get dressed before taking Jonah to school. I'm talking not even lip gloss!

* So that Josh could play with his early Christmas gift (a Playstation 3)upstairs on the big TV on Sunday, Jonah and I hung out downstairs and watched a movie. He actually sat on the couch with me and watched the First Wives Club - the whole thing! We also shared a bag of Dorito's. I think more of them ended up on Jonah's face than in his mouth!

* Meet Wuzzy...The Black Fuzzy Catapillar! I found this catapillar out on our patio and I thought it would be fun to keep it, care for it, and let Jonah watch to see what it turned into. But after few days we decided to put it back outside where it belonged! I was hoping it would attach itself to one of the bushes in the front but by the next day it was gone!

Holiday Hustle

We had a busy weekend this past weekend. Jonah's school Christmas party was on Friday afternoon and then Josh and I went on a date Friday night. Saturday we had Josh's company Christmas party and then on Sunday we did a little shopping and ran errands most of the day!

Jonah had a good time at his party. He ate a ton of marshmallows and vanilla wafers! I think the teachers enjoy giving them all that sugar right before they send them home! LOL. I had a hard time taking any good pics at the party because Jonah would not let me out of his site and refused to sit at the table when I got there! Jonah is transitioning to the Young Toddler's 2 class this week. He is excited about reuniting with his old friends from his Nursery Days! He is moving over with his friend Isabelle whom he calls "Belle." When I asked Jonah if Belle was his girlfriend he said "Yea." The teachers tell me they like each other a lot!

I really love my...

Christmas Tree!

Jonah LOVES his Christmas Tree! And yes it is his Christmas Tree, which he has made very clear. Everytime he has seen it today he has said "My Tree"

So, tonight when I asked Jonah if he was ready for story time before bed, he proceeded to move his chair over beside the tree and we read a Christmas book in his new favorite spot!

I have a feeling most of my pictures from this month will include our Christmas tree as a backdrop.

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

We didn't do much this weekend. Saturday Josh and I took Jonah and Riley to the park and then Jonah took a nap for 3 1/2 hours while I also took a nap for 3 1/2hours! ;) I think he's still trying to get over a cold from last week and I'm still trying to recoup from our NYC trip. Sunday the weather got really cold and yucky so we lounged around in our PJ's all day and finally decorated for Christmas. Jonah had a lot of fun pulling out all the Christmas decorations and managed to break only 3 of the glass ornaments! Not too bad for a toddler! He is very excited about the Christmas tree and every few minutes he runs up to it and says "Hi Tree!" Last night he had to go kiss one of the ornaments goodnight before he went to bed! Too cute!

Jonah was very particular about the placement of the ornaments on the tree

He might be the next Nate Berkus

Mommy's Uggs should keep my legs and feet warm

Oui, Oui

I wasn't joking when I said we stayed in our PJ's ALL DAY!

Jonah's New Slide

My Mom and Dad (aka Nana and Papa) bought Jonah this treehouse and slide for Halloween but when it arrived it was missing two of the treehouse legs so I called Step 2 and of course the legs were on backorder! Random..I know! Anyway, they finally arrived this last week and Jonah has had so much fun playing on his new slide. Every morning when he wakes up and we go downstairs the first thing he has to do is "Go slide!" and he has to have "One more slide" before he goes to bed! Thanks Nana and Papa for such a fun gift!

Girl's NYC Trip

Vicky, Shannon, Lindsey, and I had a girl's weekend in NYC last weekend! We saw Spring Awakening on Broadway. It was a little risque but a fabulous show! We did lots of shopping!! We hit several boutiques and also Henri Bendel and FAO Schwartz. Of course I had to pick up a few things for Jonah!! :) We ate at Blue Water Grill and even talked Shannon into trying some sushi!! We also ate at a wonderful Italian restaurant called Elio's and my very very sweet husband surprised us with a bottle of wine at our table! Isn't that so romantic?? It made me cry!! Of course Vicky and I had to have a hotdog off of a street vendor. They are the best! We also hit City Bakery and had their famous hot chocoloate with homeade marshmallows! We did a lot of sightseeing around Manhattan and we even managed to see it snow on Sunday! We had quite an adventure on the Subway and that was a lot of fun! I'm really looking forward to our next girl's trip! Maybe Paris?? ;)

I also wanted to thank my very sweet father-in-law, Edd, Jerod and Lauren, for coming over to help Josh and Jonah while I was gone! I'm sure Josh greatly appreciated the extra help!

Thanksgiving Part 2

Okay..I'm a little behind on my blog but here are the rest of our photos from our Thanksgiving holiday weekend. We headed to Josh's Dad's house in Palenstine on Thanksgiving Day and then we went to my parents on Friday and Saturday. Jonah had so much fun visiting all of his family and eating lots of good food!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Josh and I have so much to be thankful for this year on Thanksgiving! We are blessed in so many ways. But we are most thankful for our wonderful family and good friends.

We hope that all of you have a Happy Thanksgiving this year and that you take a little time today to count your own blessings and think about all that you are thankful for. We hope that you are able to spend this day with family and/or friends and that you enjoy all the good food and memories that today will bring!

Jonah is 20 Months Old Today!

Jonah is 20 months old today! He is such a little boy now! It's hard to believe that he will be 2 years old in a mere 4 months. They always say when you have kids time flies by a lot faster than before and I truly agree with that statement! I can't believe how much he has changed over the last month. He talks non-stop and is just so sweet! He's very energetic and happy! However, Jonah can be a little stubborn (though I don't know where he gets that from! lol) but we usually get through the testy times fairly quickly. They told me at school that Jonah loves to help clean up and that it's very cute how he will get so upset with the other children when they do not do as they are told. They said he is a leader in the class and loves playing with all the children. He takes care of them and doesn't like for them to be upset. Right now he does not like to keep his shoes on and every day when I pick him up from school he is running around barefoot! Jonah loves to sleep with several blankets in his crib and loves to snuggle. There are mornings when I walk into his room and ask him if he's ready to get up and he says "No!" He's definately a Schneider!

New phrases:
"Oh No!" complete with his hands on his cheeks!
"Oh Gosh!"
"Daddy get me!" - after I put him in his crib at night! LOL
"Riley, let's go!"
"Daddy go bye-bye" when Josh leaves in the morning for work

New Foods: Not many new foods this month :)
White Cheddar Cheez-its
Gogurt
Pop Tarts

So You Think You Can Dance??

Jonah and Kayla put on quite the performance for us during Thanksgiving weekend.

Thanksgiving 2007

We had Thanksgiving with Josh's family at our house this weekend. Jonah and Kayla had so much fun playing together. Jonah pronounces Kayla's name "Kee-La". It was so cute! He was very sad we she left yesterday! This morning on his monitor I could hear him saying her name over and over! He's also learned everyone's name now and loves to call them by their name. He still calls Jerod and Lauren Jay-Jay and La La. But he also now says Mimi, Amy, Jon and he started calling Josh's mom Bibi this weekend. It's a little easier to say than Gran. We had a great time catching up, eating lots of good food and relaxing with his family. Now it's off to Josh's Dad's house on Thursday and my parents on Friday! I'm definitely going to need to visit the gym after three Thanksgiving meals plus all the yummy leftovers!! :)

Drive Time

Jonah had a lot fun pretending to drive Josh's car!

On the Market

After talking about it for awhile, we finally put our house on the market last week. I'm not sure we picked the best time of year to move but we'll see what happens. We've already had two showings so who knows. The good thing is we aren't in any rush. In fact I would prefer to move after the holidays. We are just hoping to sell our house and move closer to Josh's office in Dallas. So, if you know anyone looking to move to McKinney we have a great house looking for a new family!

It's that time of year

It's starting to be that time of year when you are so busy you feel like you are constantly in overdrive! These are the days I wish I had a few clones of myself stored in my closet. The last two weeks have been crazy. I worked the JLP American Girl Fashion Show last weekend and worked the Neat the Wreath market this weekend. We made a trip to Fort Worth this weekend and to top it off we put our house on the market last week so we've been busy having little cosmetic things done here and there. I'm also trying to get ready for Thanksgiving this weekend with Josh's family at our house, Jonah's Thanksgiving party at school, and then we are going out of town next weekend for Thanksgiving with Josh's Dad and my family. Plus I have to plan for my Girl's NYC trip which is the last weekend in November! Then December will be here and I think we have something planned every weekend - Christmas parties, my birthday, shopping, Christmas, a wedding! I'm thinking I should definately break out the clones of me and Josh and the real us should take a nice long holiday to the beach!!

Happy Halloween!

Tonight we attended the McKinney "Scare on the Square". Our friends Shannon, Bryce, and Ryan were also there. The Little Dragon and Tiger had fun walking around checking out all the costumes. It was crowded and the lines for candy at the stores were really long so unfortunately Jonah didn't score any Tricks or Treats but that's okay because he doesn't really eat candy yet and I didn't need the temptation! I'm holding out until Thanksgiving so I can eat the really good stuff! After we left Jonah didn't act like he felt well so after we got home I took his temp and it was 102.1! Needless to say, we didn't do any trick or treating in our neighborhood. Jonah took tylenol, ate dinner, had a bath and went straight to bed! I hope he feels better tomorrow and isn't coming down with something!

Nacho Libre

Jonah's first experience enjoying one of our family favorites - Nachos!!

Spooky Spider

Jonah and I finally finished up our Spooky Spider Project. He helped me paint the pumpkin earlier in the week and then he painted the fangs. I was in charge of the hot glue gun. I think it turned out cute! Especially for someone that isn't very crafty!

We got Boo'd

We were officially Boo'd on Friday evening after hearing about this tradition but not really knowing what it meant. What a fun idea! Jonah enjoyed playing with the spider rings on the cupcakes we received and we had fun boo'ing two more houses the next night.

Lions, Tigers, and Bears Oh My!

Primrose had their Fall Festival and Parade on Friday. Jonah dressed up as his current favorite animal, the Tiger. We've had his costume for some time and he has refused to put on. He would actually start crying when I tried to even put one of the sleeves over his arm. But apparently peer pressure among the young toddler age group is pretty powerful and when he saw his classmates putting on their costumes, well he had no choice but to follow suit. He paraded around the school saying "Roar" to everyone and really got into character by crawling on all fours in the grass like a real tiger! After we got home he refused to take off the pants.

Take your best shot

I took these pictures after we got back from Jonah's book fair and I just thought they were cute so I decided to post them to the blog.

Bookworm

Primrose had a book fair last week and Jonah stocked up on some new reading material. He also donated three books to his Young Toddler's class.

Jonah turns 19 months old

On October 21st Jonah turned 19 months old. He is really becoming such a little boy. He talks in real phrases now, repeats everything which means we have to really watch what we say and he's always on the go. He is starting to try more adult type foods. I think we have finally passed the chicken nuggets only phase! He loves to explore and play games, especially wrestling with Riley and jumping on the bed every chance he gets! He's growing and changing so much everyday but one thing is for sure - He's 100% boy! There are so many new things he's doing and saying. I don't have enough room to list them all so I'll share the condensed version. Here are some of his newest favorites.

Phrases:
"Riley's a dog" (I think he just realized this!)
"Fish in cup please" (translation - Please put Goldfish in my snack cup)
"More cheese please"
"I go tee tee diaper" (follwed by grabbing a diaper and laying on the floor with his legs in the air! too cute!)
"Hi Pig" "Oink Oink" referring to his toy piggy bank
"1-2-3 Go!" This means chase me!
"I got it!" I don't know what he's "got" but he says it all the time!

Foods:
Tacos - he actually grabbed one off my plate the other night and ate the whole thing!
Toast with Jelly
Turkey Sandwiches
Nachos
